Frozen and canned meats should be preferred to fresh. Cans and frozen foods are often less nutritious than fresh meats, such as high fructose corn syrup.

The fastest-growing industry is organic food. There is still much to be done, even though we have come so far from our roots.
Organic products are the future. Organic products are safer, more sustainable, and cheaper for consumers.
But they tend to be more expensive. We created the Organic Food Index. We wanted the ability to identify which foods are currently most popular and whether these trends have changed.
The results showed that organic food is increasing in popularity. Between 2011 and 2012, the number of Americans who shop for organic food increased by almost 50%.
The USDA reports that organic production increased 10% last year. Currently, organic food accounts for 9% in the U.S. agricultural production.
Organic food is definitely on the rise, but it still seems expensive for consumers. According to the Organic Trade Association OTA, organic food retail prices are about twice those of conventional products.
That said, organic food is growing faster than any other segment of the food sector. If you examine the data closely, you will see that organic foods have grown steadily in consumption since 2009.
According to OTA the volume of organic products sold at supermarkets grew by 14% in 2010 and 2011.
This is because of consumer demand for healthier products, which explains the rise in organic food sales across all age categories.
Younger generations are choosing organic food more often than older generations. Millennials are twice more likely to purchase organic food than baby boomers. And young adults under 35 years old account for 25% of all organic food purchases.
What are organic fruits?
Organic food does not contain pesticides or synthetic fertilizers. They also contain more nutrients, such as vitamins A, C, E, and K, plus omega-3 fatty acids. Organic food is better for the earth and our bodies because of these healthy ingredients.
Organic foods are produced using sustainable agricultural practices that protect soil quality and promote biological diversity. They are free from harmful chemicals, radiation, and sewage sludge.
Although organics are most commonly associated with produce, organics can also be found in dairy, meats, poultry, eggs and baked goods.
The USDA defines "organic" as that crops being raised according to strict rules set forth by federal government standards. To grow these foods, farmers cannot use non-organic (or conventional) methods. However, they may use approved natural pest control methods, such as crop rotation and cover cropping, and animal feed made from organic materials.
In addition, the farmer must follow guidelines regarding how much fertilizer and pesticide he uses during the growing season and rotate his fields between various crops. GMOs, artificial growthhormones, synthetic insecticides, and synthetic fertilizers cannot be used by farmers.
Vegetables and fruits labeled as "100% organic" fulfill all of the requirements. Some farms don't label their products 100% organic, as it could confuse consumers. Instead, they will label the product as "made from organic ingredients". "
